I'll start off by saying that I got all of about one hour of sleep the night prior. Denmark is six hours ahead of us in time. I knew when Marcus would be waking up, when he would be at the airport, and when his plane was leaving. I was his nervous American "mom", and just plain couldn't sleep! I was getting updates from his mom via Facebook messaging, which was great! The trip started off a little delayed (by 2.5 hours to be exact). Leaving Denmark that late was going to put some pressure on Marcus when he arrived in the states. He had about 1.5 hours when he landed in New York to get off the plane, get through customs, find the train, and get to the other terminal. His mom phoned me expressing her concern and we all hoped he wouldn't miss his flight. But Marcus is awesome and he did everything flawlessly, we were all so relieved and proud of him! After leaving New York, he flew to Detroit where he would catch his final flight to Grand Rapids, MI. His flight was due to arrive at 10:45pm and actually arrived about 10:30pm. We, of course, were anxiously waiting for him there. I think these pictures speak for themselves...
Welcome to America Marcus, we are so happy you are here!!
